Digitised by Maurice Hayward.History / BiographyGeorge Thorn was born in Dunedin and educated in Port Chalmers. He was director of Thorn Electric Limited, and an international rowing administrator. He led the New Zealand team to the International Paraplegic Games in 1970, and was instrumental to Dunedin being allocated the 1974 Commonwealth Paraplegic Games. George Thorn was the older brother of Sir John Thorn, Mayor of Port Chalmers.MediaFilmDuration2:19
