Reference NumberP1981-023/2Date1900sDescriptionAn album of 33 photographs relating to the Black family. It contains family groups as well as other New Zealand subjects. Most of the photographs date from 1901 and document the visit of the Imperial troops to Dunedin on the way to South Africa to fight and also the visit of Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York to the city. Among the troops is family member Tom Black, an artilleryman. There are also some railway photographs at Rimutaka, postcard images of Wellington and a fine photograph showing erosion to the beach at St Clair in winter.
