DescriptionA window display featuring an array of apple pies.History / BiographyIn April 1940, staff at 4ZB radio organised a patriotic community sing and apple pie contest with proceeds going to the Otago Patriotic Funds. Radio star, Daisy Basham ("Aunt Daisy") was the guest of honour and according to the newspaper report, between 1,500 and 2,000 attended the sing along held at the St James Theatre (Evening Star, 9 April 1940, p.8) and they raised £90-£100.
