Reference NumberEph-Gp-0024Date1974-2018History / BiographyDunedin's Fortune Theatre was founded in 1974 by David Carnegie, Alex Gilchrist, Huntly Eliott and Murray Hutchinson. The Fortune Theatre was based in the Otago Cine Club at the Athenaeum until 1978 when it relocated to the old Trinity Methodist Church building on upper Stuart Street.
