Information about other items can be found on the Hākena catalogue, through the Library Catalogues link above.History / BiographyJane Thomson spent most of her working life editing and researching for various organisations, including the School Publications Branch of the Education Department, the Oral History Unit of Presbyterian Support Otago, and the History Department of the University of Otago. She was born in Dunedin, but spent her youth outside the region, graduating from Victoria and Leicester Universities. She returned to Dunedin about 1978. She became involved with the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography and in 1994 was commissioned as the editor of 'Southern People', a biographical dictionary to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Otago and Southland in 1998. Her last project was 'Building God's own country : historical essays on religions in New Zealand' edited with John Stenhouse and published after her death in 2004.
