There are also diary/letter books written by Marianne in the 1930s and 1940s, and a few items relating to other family members. There is a collection of cookery books and several other publications. Also included are photographs and photograph albums. Many of the papers and publications are in German, and a few in Spanish.

Information about other items can be found on the Hākena catalogue, through the Library Catalogues link above.History / BiographyFranz Bielschowsky (from Berlin) and Marianne Angermann (from Dresden) were biomedical researchers who fled Nazi Germany. They married in Spain, where they became caught up in the Civil War, fleeing again to Britain. They came to New Zealand in 1948, where Franz became Director of the University of Otago Medical School's cancer research unit.
