After attending Otago Girls' High School, she attended business college and embarked on a clerical career. In 1923 she completed the first two year training course for dental nurses. In 1929, Falconer established a clinic at Macandrew Road School, Dunedin, also treating children from Caversham School. During the 1930s she also worked at the Dental Clinic in Wellington. Her career was plagued by health problems including injuring a tendon in her foot while extracting a tooth. Falconer retired from dental nursing in the mid 1940s and died in 1973.
