In 1963 Milburn and the New Zealand Cement Company merged to form New Zealand Cement Holdings Limited. In 1971 Holcim (then a Swiss Company called Holderbank) bought 42 per cent of New Zealand Cement Holdings Limited. In 1988 the company celebrated 100 years of operations and changed its name to Milburn New Zealand Limited. In 1999 Holcim gained full ownership and in 2002 the name Holcim (New Zealand) Limited was adopted and the company rebranded throughout New Zealand.
