There are many excellent house interiors and several photographs relating to Grandma Bealey's house at Alassio, Italy. One domestic interior in Edinburgh on p.36, includes the watercolour of Moeraki Boulders that J.H. Scott gave to his mother after it earned a bronze medal at the India and Colonial Exhibition in London in 1886. Some of the photographs of Switzerland are attributed on the backs to Frank Scott and there are a few of him taken in Edinburgh. There are also a few significant images relating to Kāi Tahu Māori, probably taken by J.H. Scott, and a series of De Maus photographs of the art exhibits at the New Zealand and South Seas exhibition held in Dunedin between 1889-1890.
