DescriptionA poster to promote the Tokomairiro Farmer's Club 1888 annual show.History / BiographyThe Tokomairiro Farmer's Club was formed at a meeting in Milton on 4 July 1866. It was hoped that the organisation of regular ploughing matches and an annual show of stock and seeds by the club would lead to improvements in the agriculture of the district.
The name of the club was changed to the Tokomairiro Agricultural and Pastoral Society (Milton) in 1956.
