There are photographs, diaries, correspondence, certificates, postcards, tourist items collected by servicemen, maps and various commemorative items. There are some series relating to individual servicemen, for example, a collection of the papers and belongings of John Dow, killed at Passchendaele. There are some earlier military items, including a roll book and certificates for Naval and Artillery Volunteers, and photographs of soldiers from the South African War. The collection also includes some post World War II military items such as training manuals, newsletters, uniform regulations and brochures. There are some miscellaneous items, some with no obvious military connection, including photographs.
