By: Geir Rosset4th Mar 2015 9:28AMThis is the Norwegian whale oil factory ship "C.A. Larsen" (owner A/S Rosshavet, Sandefjord, Norway) in the dry dock at Port Chalmers. The dry dock needed to be extended from 512 feet to 530 feet to accommodate her size. She was in for repairs after running aground off Stewart Island on her way home after the whaling season in the Ross Sea. She made it off under her own power and was patched up and refloated off Ulva Island.
